The second rendition of the Hyderabad E-Prix is set to take place just a few weeks away, but there is serious concern over whether it will go ahead.
Back in September this year, Autosport broke the news that the organising team behind the Hyderabad E-Prix was disbanded, despite the race being announced on the 2024 race calendar. Doubt was immediately brought into question over whether the race would go ahead next year, and now Formula E has officially announced they are "seeking urgent clarification".
Reports are that Formula E received a letter from the Government of Telangana, the governing authority over the state that the Hyderabad E-Prix is set to take place, that "could impact the Hyderabad race".
"Based on the content of the letter received, Formula E is concerned the race will not be able to go ahead as planned." - Formula E Statement
The statement went on to explain that senior officials from Formula E have met with the new leadership of the government in India after recent elections, with discussions still ongoing. Nothing has been officially confirmed on whether the race will go ahead, and with just a few weeks to go, there has already been significant commercial investments made by suppliers and partners.
